World leaders were gathering “en masse” to hear King Charles’ keynote speech at COP28 in Dubai, according to Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers.
In an opening address to the UN climate summit, King Charles expressed hope COP28 would be another critical turning point towards “genuine transformational action”.
“We are seeing alarming tipping points being reached,” the King warned.
Mr Myers noted that King Charles was essentially banned from going to the last COP.
“He has been a campaigner on the environment and climate change in the last 50 years, very, very well respected in that sense,” he told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo.
