Vladimir Putin threatens nuclear apocalypse live

Vladimir Putin turned into a true Bond villain in his latest TV appearance, threatening the world with nuclear armageddon before letting out an ominous chuckle.

Putin appeared on Russian state television when he appeared to be joking about nuclear war.

The twisted tyrant spoke at the Valdai Discussion Club, a Moscow think tank with close ties to the Kremlin.

He is asked about the possibility of nuclear war after the escalation of tensions between Russia and the West over the war in Ukraine.

In a short video posted online, interviewer Fyodor Lukyanov tells Putin: “We got a little nervous, remembering your words at this very event four years ago that “we will all end up in paradise.” We’re not in a hurry, are we?”

The Russian president is silent and looks away at the chilling 10-second pause.

Eventually the interviewer releases the tension by saying, “You think. That in itself is kind of disturbing.”

Putin then tries to joke about nuclear war, smirking at the audience before adding, “I did it on purpose to alarm you.”

He then chuckles to himself as the host and audience laugh nervously.

In one of his longest public speeches since the invasion began on February 24, Putin declared that the world was going through the most dangerous decade since World War II.

He also insisted that he did not regret his war, which killed nearly 70,000 Russians.

He also accused former British Prime Minister Liz Truss of publicly threatening his country with a nuclear attack during her 44-day term in office.

He joked that Truss had done something “stupid” and “a little crazy”.

Referring to the elephant in the room, Putin, 70, denied that Moscow was preparing to use nuclear weapons in its quest to defeat Ukraine.

“We don’t need to do this,” he said. “For us there is no point, neither political nor military.”

He spoke amid growing public anger at home in the face of his planned mobilization of 300,000 Russians for his war.

The day before the speech in Moscow, he led the planned exercises with the alleged retaliatory nuclear strike.

A video posted by the Russian military website Zvezda shows military personnel firing a Yars ballistic missile in front of computers.

But Putin insisted that this was only in response to threats from the West.

“We never spoke in advance about the possible use of nuclear weapons by Russia,” he said. “We only hinted at the comments of Western leaders.”

After singling out Liz Truss for her suggestion during the August campaign that she would be ready to push the nuclear button if needed, he said: “What were we supposed to do? Keep quiet? Pretend we didn’t hear it?”

Reiterating his longtime justification for the war in Ukraine, he denounced the West’s “dangerous, bloody and dirty game” of denying the sovereignty and uniqueness of nations.

And he argued that the West’s “dominance” of world affairs was coming to an end.

“We are on the historical frontier,” he said. “Ahead is probably the most dangerous, unpredictable and at the same time important decade since the end of World War II.”

Continuing to scold the West, he continued: “They are fueling a war in Ukraine, exacerbating provocations around Taiwan, destabilizing global food and energy markets,” he ranted.

“As for the latter, it was not intentional, we have no doubt about it, it happened due to system errors.”

However, he also hinted that he was open to peace talks with the West.

“Either we continue to pile on the burden of problems that are said to overwhelm us all, or we can work together to find functional solutions, if imperfect solutions, that can make our world more stable and secure,” he said.

“The crisis has taken on a truly global scale. This applies to everyone, and we should not be under the illusion that humanity is essentially facing two options.”

This happened at the moment when Putin’s alleged goddaughter was filmed on video as she fled to the West.

Former Playboy model Ksenia Sobchak, whose father was Putin’s political mentor, has been captured while escaping to Lithuania while facing criminal charges in her homeland.
