US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin is back in hospital due to a bladder issue, according to the Pentagon.
It follows on from last month when he failed to inform President Joe Biden or Congress, he had been admitted to the intensive care unit.
Austin transferred his defence duties to his deputy over the weekend before he returned to the hospital following complications from prostate cancer treatment.
The Pentagon says Mr Lloyd was admitted on Sunday due to symptoms suggesting an emergent bladder issue.
In a statement his doctors said it is not known how long the US Defence Secretary will be out of office:
“… It is not clear how long Secretary Austin will remain hospitalised. The current bladder issue is not expected to change his anticipated full recovery. His cancer prognosis remains excellent.”
