Tsukasa Shiotani’s kick sends Sanfrecce without Reysol’s wins

Former Japan defender Tsukasa Shiotani scored the winning goal as Sanfrecce Hiroshima beat Kashiwa Reysol 1-0 at home in the J1 League on Sunday.

Third-placed last year, Hiroshima was without a win in its first three games this season but has now won two in a row to move up to ninth with eight points.

With the hosts in dominance, the decisive goal came in the 82nd minute at Edion Stadium when Makoto Mitsuta, whose late penalty sealed Sanfrecce’s decisive victory over Gamba Osaka last weekend, did well to keep the ball under pressure outside the penalty area.
