The funeral of Pope Benedict XVI will take place on Thursday in St. Petersburg. St. Peter’s Square presided over by Pope Francis.
Pope Francis will celebrate a memorial service for the late Pope Benedict XVI next week after the Pope passed away on Saturday.
Vatican Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI has been declared dead. Saturday, 9:34. He was 95 years old.
Benedict’s body is currently kept in the monastery of Mater Ecclesiae in the Vatican, where he spent most of his life after the papacy.

Good Yang 2, his body will be moved for viewing by believers in St. St. Peter’s Basilica. According to tradition, the body of the deceased pope will be put on public display so that mourners can pray for the pontiff on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The service will be open to the public and the Vatican has provided contacts for Catholics around the world wishing to celebrate Mass remotely.
