Stephen Colbert taunts Elon Musk for ‘The Jerk Circle’ attempt to save himself

Stephen Colbert said Elon Musk appears to be falling into despair after shelling out $44 billion to buy Twitter only to lay off half the staff and then warned that the social network could go bankrupt under his control.

“One company is brave enough to endure,” Colbert said. “Because SpaceX bought a big ad campaign on Twitter.”

SpaceX is also run by Musk.

“Yes, Elon’s SpaceX will save Elon’s Twitter. And Elon’s solar panel company is going to save Elon’s Tesla,” Colbert blurted out, then sang a Lion King-esque song, “It’s a dork’s circle!”

Colbert also ridiculed Musk for a post that said, “Twitter seems to be getting more alive.”

“Yeah, he seems more alive than ever,” Colbert agreed sarcastically. “Just like after you chopped off a chicken’s head!”

Then he depicted how he cut off the chicken’s head.

“Wow!” exclaimed Colbert. “He really runs. Oh, he dances!”

Colbert pretended to dance with a dying chicken… until he “fell asleep”:
