The situation between the two sides was so tense that a fight broke out between the two camps in the VIP rooms of the Moses Mabida Stadium on 25 February.

And now a security guard allegedly injured in a fight with Royal AM bosses, Sean “MaMhize” Mhize and her son Andile Mpisane, are considering legal options.

According to the report Wintersecurity officer Nkosinati Mbanjwa was left with a swollen face after receiving multiple slaps from MaMhize and his son.

“I was attacked for doing my job,” Mbanjwa was quoted as saying in the report.

“Andile and his mother constantly asked me if I knew who they were and threatened to arrest me.

“They attacked me and people were afraid to intervene because high-ranking officials know MaMhize,” Mbanjwa, 41, added.

According to him, the Royal AM crew was already angry when they encountered him getting into a fight with the AmaZulu contingent.

I politely asked the Royal AM staff for accreditation.

The fight was apparently over the duo’s accreditation for VIP cabin accommodation, which they were allegedly denied.

“I knew about her fight with the AmaZulu bosses, but I didn’t expect them to attack me.

“Especially when I politely asked for their accreditation. She had no reason to attack and insult me, ”the guard says about his ordeals at the hands of the Royal AM bosses.

“The next day I went to file an assault case. I’m still waiting for my case number, but the investigator called me and asked me a few questions,” adds Mbanjwa.

“I hustle for my family the same way she works hard for her.” Mbanjwa also said that he is now looking for a legal way to get justice.
