Samurai Japan manager Hideki Kuriyama reveals the secrets behind the team’s WBC success

Japan Classic Baseball skipper Hideki Kuriyama said on Friday that advice from high schoolers and corporate team managers was part of his recipe for success during the tournament in March.

“I have listened to and learned from the managers of high school and corporate teams as their teams mostly play in knockout tournaments,” Kuriyama said at a press conference just a few days after his term as manager of Samurai Japan ended.

“The most important thing I’ve learned is not to wait too long (to make pitching or other changes).”
