Defence Minister Richard Marles has announced the second pillar involved in the AUKUS alliance between the UK and US.
During a meeting with his US and British counterparts, he said the process will also include bolstering space and AI capabilities.
The leaders said the new efforts would set the stage for future tech collaboration.
The location for Australia’s future east-coast nuclear submarine base may not be chosen until the end of the decade.
According to the Canberra Times, the delay is a result of ongoing consultations as to whether to choose Port Kembla, Newcastle and Brisbane as it’s base.
