R. Kelly Sentenced to 20 Years in Chicago Child Sexual Exploitation Case

The disgraced R&B singer was sentenced on Thursday to 20 years in federal prison after being convicted of child pornography and seduction charges, but he will serve almost the entire sentence at the same time as an already existing 30-year sentence on racketeering charges. .

A federal judge in Chicago said Kelly, 56, should serve one year in prison after serving his New York racketeering conviction.

The singer will serve a total of no more than 31 years in federal prison and will be eligible for release at around age 80.
