Qatari Dairy Company Seeks Filipino Partners

Baladna Qatar Public Shareholding Co., the largest livestock and dairy producer in QATAR, is seeking business partners for its Philippine venture.

A fact sheet from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) released on Friday said Baladna is looking for partners for its businesses here – a safe innovation center and mariculture park in Suala, Pangasinan; Agro-industrial center of the city of General Santos; Cotabato Agro-Industrial Park; and South Cotabato Integrated Food Terminal.

Baladna is among the Middle Eastern companies that the Philippine government has attracted to invest in the country during Expo 2022 in Dubai.

Last year, the Qatari firm signed an agreement with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to set up a $500 million integrated dairy facility in the Philippines.

The DA said the project could increase local dairy production by 120 million liters from a production volume of 26.71 million.

DTI added that the Baladna dairy complex here will be an import replacement for the Philippines as the country transfers up to 98 percent of its milk demand.
