“After an intense search carried out by our armed forces, we have found alive four children missing in a plane crash in Guaviar. Joy for the country,” President Gustavo Petro tweeted.

Authorities said the plane disappeared from radar on May 1 while flying over the Amazon rainforest. One person was found dead inside the plane, and six passengers were missing.

Avianline Charter, the company that operated the commercial flight, confirmed that the body belonged to the pilot, AFP reported. The plane was bound for San José del Guaviare, one of the main cities in Colombia. Amazon rainforest.
