Pilmico donates equipment to Davao del Norte rabbit breeders
Rabbit producers at the Carmen municipal slaughterhouse in Davao del Norte received meat processing equipment from Pilmico and Gold Coin Group (Pilmiko).
The handover was led by Jefferson Abian, Pilmico’s assistant vice president of livestock production in Mindanao.
“Let’s work together to promote the consumption of rabbit meat in the municipality of Carmen and soon the rest of the region,” said Jervin Pugoy, president of the Davao del Norte Quality Rabbit Meat Producers Association.
“We thank the mayor of the municipality of Carmen, Leonidas Bahage, for his support in this endeavor. With your help, you can count on us to continue to be a partner in the development of our rabbit breeders.”
The company said in a statement that the donation is in line with the government’s initiative to develop rabbit farming, which can serve as an alternative source of income for farmers.
Pilmico launched its Kunemax rabbit food brand in 2021 amid rising demand for protein intake.
Pilmico Foods Corp. and Gold Coin Management Holdings are integrated agribusiness and food companies of Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc.
