Phoenix Area Welcomes Rain After Monthslong Dry Spell

Light rain fell in the Phoenix area on Thursday, November 16, after two months of dry conditions, the National Weather Service (NWS) said. As of Thursday morning, at least 0.06 inches of rain fell at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport, the “first measurable rainfall” since September 12, the NWS said. Weather officials said rain is possible through Saturday, but that “clearing skies and cooler temperatures” are expected on Sunday.
