PARIS DIOR (Race 8, No. 1)
Chased the impressive Benedetta in Flemington first and will be much better for it. Expecting another big run from her.
FAVORABLE RATE
BLUESTONE LANE (Race 2, #2)
Bluestone Ridge flies to Cliff Brown camp and returned home on that course last time. He loves the 1200m and can win again.

RACE 1: 12:25 POWERFLO SOLUTIONS VOBIS GOLD COMET (1000m)
The speedsters start the day on the All-Star Mile and happily return from MIDWEST (1) to The Valley. His form in Sydney was excellent and the four-year-old is undefeated on the track. SCISSOR STEP (2) will debut at Camp McEvoy and last won at The Valley on Cox Plate Day. MYNUMEROUNO (4) has been on the top spot for 11 months, but it could be fresh. TAN TAT MAGIC (7) was in good form at Flemington last Saturday and can perform well again.
RECOMMENDED RATE: Midwest to win.
ENGINE MARKET INSERT: Midwest $2.50–$2.15.
RACE 2: 13:05 SHARP EXTENSIVE IT HANDICAP (1200m)
Tough contest but BLUESTONE LANE (2) races in amazing form including winning The Valley last time and it’s worth playing both ways once again despite going up to 62kg to do so. MORPHEUS BRAGI (14 years old) is an easy racer but talented and jumped well before. BLOOD OATH (5) did well last time at Sandown and is just around the corner. IN HER STRIDE (9) was a close up in the Stakes at Tassi at the last start and should be back by 1200m.
RECOMMENDED RATE: Bluestone lane both ways.
ENGINE MARKET INSERT: In Her Stride $9.50-$6.50.
RACE 3: 13:40 PIPER-HEJZIK MYSTICAL JOURNEY (2040m)
A DIVINE GOD (2) may be of some value to her. This time she started well and finished well in both heats, but she will most likely enjoy 2040m here. SUMMERBEEL (5) is racing in great shape and will be ready for speed again. CHARMS STAR (1) was a solid player in the last start of the Wangaratta Cup and should be easier now. AMPERE (6) does not race but shows talent for Mick Kent’s camp.
RECOMMENDED RATE: Kinella 2 and 5.
ENGINE MARKET INSERT: Summerbeal $3 – $2.40.
RACE 4: 14:20 XTREME FREIGHT VOBIS GOLD REEF (1600m)
Even a group of three year olds will be in this race, but the TORONTO TERRIER (5) was most impressive in how he dealt with his first challenger. He is on trial on a ride but looks like a horse on a ride. AMERICAN LIAISON (3) led and scored easily at Kilmore, but could also be in it for a long time. RUSSIAN DANCER (2) races well on his home track and has a chance. BEL AIR (1) did well again at Pakenham and should also be considered.
RECOMMENDED RATE: Toronto Terrier to win.
ENGINE MARKET INSERT: Russian dancer $6 – $3.90.
RACE 5: 14:55 MUGATU LOGISTICS BRANCH (1600m)
Former Hong Kong galloper RIYAZAN (1) did the best job on the inside, finishing second in the group 2 company, and it will be much easier for him. MUNHAM (5) took a well-deserved victory at Flemington last start and could continue it here. BOIS D’ARGENT (2) was close to some smarties on his only run in Australia and did a good job. COMMODUS (10) performs well in easier competitions and can take a place.
RECOMMENDED RATE: Riyazan one way.
ENGINE MARKET INSERT: Manem $2.40 – $2.30
RACE 6: 15:40 ABELL STAKES EDUCATIONAL PARTICIPANTS (1200m)
LADY OF HONOR (5) is resuming her run after a massive spring campaign and she has the class to threaten the first. DOULL (11) dropped in class with an easy first win, but will be better and was close to Giga Kick last time. The BOAT (2) resumes and it may be difficult for him to escape back to his favorite hard ground. LOMBARDO (1) will be in top shape for his consistent first run and will find it much easier than competing at Group 1 level.
RECOMMENDED RATE: Lady Of Honor to win.
ENGINE MARKET INSERT: Pawnshop $14 – $9.50.
RACE 7: 4:20 PM SHARP EIT STAR MILES (1600m)
A step up to 1600m should turn the tide in favor of I’M THUNDESTRUCK (1) who has a great run this run and the expected fast pace should be fine. ALLIGATOR BLOOD (2) is as strong as ever and will once again be a serious challenge. MR BRIGHTSIDE (4) loves The Valley and is a Group 1 winner in the 1600m while ALENQUER (8) is the top runner on his Australian debut but his overseas form is more than good enough for that.
RECOMMENDED RATE: I am shocked by the victory.
TAB MARKET: Alligator blood from $3 to $2.80.
RACE 8: 17:00 GROUP 3 PKF TYPHOON TRACY STAKES (1200m)
She has a big filly field but loved the way PARIS DIOR (1) finished behind the stylish Benedetta at the Flemington first-up. She will only be better prepared for it and is the Group 2 winner in the 1200m. WEE NESSY (3) drew clumsily, but she did well at Sandown, finishing in second place and winning at stakes at The Valley in the spring. LADY LAGUNA (7 years old) lost weight for her first race and became a stable filly. GREECE (18) will be much better prepared for their first run.
RECOMMENDED RATE: Paris Dior wins.
ENGINE MARKET INSERT: Paris Dior 8-6 dollars.
RACE 9: 17:40 GROUP 2 DEC ALISTER CLARK STIKES (2040m)
This is a deep race with a lot of talented runners with a chance to win. Riding with AMENABLE (3) after his great performance in the Australian Guineas while the colt also impressed jockey Damien Oliver with his performance in the Valley on Tuesday. JAPANESE EMPEROR (5) can show that his place in Australian Guinea was no fluke, with another good performance here. BANK MAUR (2) closed late in Guinea and deserves respect, as does the remaining talent of DUNKEL (1)
RECOMMENDED RATE: Triple box 1, 2, 3, 5.
ENGINE MARKET INSERT: Available $3.30 – $3.10.
RACE 10: 18:10 LADBROKE COUNTRY FINAL (1600m)
Tough finish to an important day at The Valley, but KHOEKHOE (2) showed he’s back well with his dominant tempo win at Ballarat, after which he’ll improve even further. SUPARAZI (2) is impressed with his win at the last race and should be doing well again. BRITISH COLOMBIA (3) has caught up with the Khoekho at Ballarat and is the most stable. THREEANDFOURPENCE (11) has a tricky gate, but watch out for it late.
RECOMMENDED RATE: Support both Khokho and Suparazi to win.
ENGINE MARKET INSERT: Hoekhe $8.50-$6.
