Opposition has ‘big concerns’ about how AUKUS submarines will be paid
Shadow Defense Secretary Andrew Hastie says the opposition has “great concerns” about the budget and how AUKUS submarines will be paid.
“This is a massive undertaking worth between $268 billion and $368 billion over the life of the project, but we want to see more details on how we stay within 2.2 percent of GDP,” Mr. Hastie told Sky News Australia.
“It’s a big expense and we need transparency.”
Mr Hastie said the opposition was also concerned about the sequencing – liberals want to know what will happen with the life extension of the Collins class submarines.
