NRL 2023: ‘Raiders vs. Sharks’ ‘dirty’ scenes spark rough halftime searches as Raider Danny Levy breaks his jaw
The Canberra Raiders took their first win of the season by beating Cronulla Sharks 24-20, but at a nasty price.
Raiders prostitute Danny Levy only played two minutes after slipping out of a tackle early in the game.
The Raiders were leading 12-10 at halftime, but those were the first scenes where Levy bled heavily after his team’s first defensive set.

Levy was left playing with his mouth open when the coach rushed over to him.
“He’s got a real problem here, Levy,” Warren Smith said in a Fox League commentary.
Cooper Kronk added: “He immediately looked at the touchline when he came out of the fight. He’s looking in all sorts of trouble for Danny Levy.”
The coaches had to hold his mouth as he left the field, and almost immediately fears that this was a suspicion of a broken jaw were confirmed.
The injury appears to have occurred when Levy brushed the shoulder of Sharks co-rower Thai Wilton, with Fox reporter Matt Russell saying he thought it could have been broken in two places.
Greg Alexander said it was “pretty embarrassing” and Fox Sports showed a vision of officials looking for his teeth on the lawn.
“He just got into a tackle and Taig Wilton did some leg work and the shoulder looks like Levi was hit in the jaw,” Fox League’s Greg Alexander said.
“He didn’t look good leaving the ground, definitely not good.”
Smith said officials would return to the field if the search turned up nothing.
“At halftime, we had NRL officials looking for at least one tooth on the turf at GIO Stadium,” Smith said.
“They might have been there again for a whole working day if they hadn’t found it, it seems, in the event that they turned out to be empty.”
But aside from a nauseating injury, the Raiders were on fire as the team waited for their first win of the season.
Leading 12-10 at half-time, the Raiders went 24-10 in the 53rd minute after striker Corey Horsburg scored a rare double.
A try by Jesse Ramien in the 55th minute and a goal from Britain’s Nikor in the 71st made the game tense, but it was enough for the Riaders to score their first points of the season.
