Missed opportunities and an inability to stand up and campaign on real issues with little fire is what sums up Matthew Guy’s campaign in a liberal state, says Sky News digital editor Jack Houghton.
Mr Houghton spoke at the Sky News-Herald Sun People’s Forum between Victorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews and state opposition leader Matthew Guy.
Mr Houghton said that Prime Minister Andrews “teared” Mr Gai on issues of corruption, integrity and public spending, and the leader of the opposition did not fight back.
“If you want to be prime minister and lead one of Australia’s largest states, you can’t sit back and let someone discredit your spending and say you’re talking nonsense,” Houghton said.
“Who told him he should roll over and not defend himself in the middle of the only debate the Victorians would see.”
