The remains of a Mexican woman who traveled to Peru to romance a medical student she met online were washed up on a beach earlier this month, and authorities believe her. organs could be removed.

In a series of messages, Carla Arellano said that Villafuerte told her that the couple had broken up and that her aunt was moving back to Mexico after stating “I can’t offer the life she wanted.”

“I decided to contact Juan P. as he was the only contact she had in this country, and this is where our fear was born,” Carla wrote.

Nov. 10, the authorities of Peru found a severed finger with a silver ring attached, which was confirmed to belong to Blanca Arellano. More remains washed up in the days that followed, including a featureless head, arm, and torso with all the internal organs that appeared to have been removed.

Nov. On September 17, Villafuerte was arrested in connection with the disappearance of Arellano.

“Juan Pablo Villafuerte has been arrested on charges of trafficking in human organs,” Peru’s attorney general said at a press conference on Monday, according to Latin Noticias.

Shortly after Arellano Villafuerte’s disappearance, he posted videos on TikTok showing him dissecting human organs, including the pancreas and brain, according to an independent report.

Authorities ransacked his home, where blood spatter was found in several rooms, according to the Spanish newspaper El Pais.

“My aunt was a kind, warm person, full of light, smart, dedicated, loving, and that is how she should be remembered,” Carla tweeted on Wednesday, thanking the Peruvian authorities.
