Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp explains referee disputes with ’emotion and anger’

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted “all of this should never have happened”, explaining his role in the row that broke out between him and referee Paul Tierney. The FA are investigating comments from the Reds boss who appeared to question the official’s integrity after Sunday’s dramatic 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur. After his team took the win, Klopp ran down the touchline to celebrate in front of fourth official John Brooks and received a yellow card from Tierney. “The whole situation shouldn’t have happened at all. It was because of the emotions, because of the anger at that moment. That’s why I celebrated the way I celebrated,” Klopp said.
