Labor’s energy pledge is ‘another broken promise’

Shadow Energy Minister Ted O’Brien says that when the Labor government intervened in the energy market in 2022, it promised Australian households that aid would start rolling in this April.

“This is another broken promise because there will be no household assistance from the government this April,” he said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Electricity bills will rise this winter, in line with the Australian Energy Regulatory Authority’s draft definition of the country’s electricity price protection system.
