Kyogo Furuhashi scores double to beat Celtic in Scottish League Cup final
Glasgow, Scotland – Kyogo Furuhashi scored a brace as Celtic beat Rangers 2-1 to win the Scottish League Cup for the second year in a row on Sunday, while Reims’ Junya Ito scored a goal and provided two assists for his team in France.
After scoring a brace in last season’s final against Hibernian, Furuhashi repeated the stunt at Hampden Park as Celtic pinned their Old Firm rivals in their 21st League Cup win.
Daizen Maeda scored a cross from Greg Taylor from the left flank, but the ball went into Furuhashi’s hands as he scored into an empty net to give Celtic the lead a minute before half-time.
