Kaoru Mitoma assists Brighton at Crystal Palace

Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma set a winner as Brighton beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at home in the English Premier League on Wednesday, boosting their hopes of qualifying for European competition next season.

The only goal came in the 15th minute at the Amex Stadium, when Mitoma drove into the opposition half from the left before passing the ball to Solly March, who struck into the far bottom corner from the box.

“It was great that we scored a goal around that point in the game. I hope to have more of these (offensive) patterns,” said Mitoma, who has scored or assisted in his last four games in all competitions.
