John Stamos Unexpectedly Talks About Kristen Bell On Dax Shepard’s Podcast

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have long been one of Hollywood’s most talked about couples, but Bell’s apparent overlooked connection to another heartthrob actor made headlines this week.

In a recent episode of Shepard’sArmchair Expertpodcast, John Stamos revealed that he was almost set to date Belle long before she married Shepard.

“I recently got divorced [from Rebecca Romijn]. There was some kind of awards, or a party, or an after-party, or something like that, ”Stamos explained. “And my press agent… says: “This girl wants to meet you. You must meet her. She is in the theatre. She’s fun, you guys would be great together. It was Kristen.”

The Full House actor’s confession prompted audible gasps from Shepard and co-host Monica Padman. However, he quickly clarified that he considers himself “too old” for Bell, who is 17 years younger than him.

“I was just being so arrogant and thought, ‘I’m old.’ But then I got over it,” he joked, alluding to the 23-year age gap between him and his current wife. Caitlin McHugh Stamos.

Although Stamos did not specify the exact timing of the meeting, he and Romijn ended their seven-year marriage in 2005. Meanwhile, Shepard started dating Bell in 2007.

Luckily, everything seems to work out in everyone’s favor. Stamos started dating McHugh Stamos in 2015, about four years after their paths first crossed on the set of Law & Order: SVU. Pair married in 2018 and the same year they had a son, Billy, who is now 4 years old.

Meanwhile, Bell and Shepard got married in 2013. The couple have daughters, Lincoln, 9, and Delta, 8.

later in a podcastStamos spoke about the first meeting with McHugh Stamos.

“I said, ‘I’ll give it 100%.’ If it doesn’t work, fine, but at least I know the road,” he said. “Being real is exhausting, but it’s so great.”
