Jerusalem World Masters Reveal New Champions and Feats

The second day of the World Judo Championship in the historic city of Jerusalem!

Again, Pais Arena Stadium was filled with passionate judo fans looking forward to another exciting day of competition.

The 81kg category was filled with some of the most talented judoists on the planet. Current world champion Tato Grigalashvili It was an epic day, fighting his way to the final.

On the other side of the draw was the former world champion Said Mollai Azerbaijan, who defeated his Belgian counterpart, Matthias Kassein their semi-final match.

During the final, a skilful counter-attack saw the world champion from Georgia finish 2022 at another high level. What an amazing year for Grigalashvili.

Medals were awarded Miri Regevmember of the Israeli Knesset.

In the category up to 73 kg Brazil Daniel Cargney was delighted to win his first World Masters title.

He was awarded medals Nasser Al Tamimi, General Treasurer of the IJF.

The Olympic silver medalist was overjoyed Michaela Pollereshow she beat the 2019 world champion Marie-Yves Gayet from France to become the world master in judo in the weight category up to 70 kg.

She was awarded a medal Vladimir Barta, IJF Chief Sports Director.
