‘It’s worrisome’: latest figures released by UN show ‘record high coca cultivation’
Coca cultivation hit a record high, increasing by 35 percent from 2020 to 2021, a UN report showed on Thursday, amid the emergence of new cocaine trafficking centers in southeastern Europe and Africa. By 2020, global production of cocaine has already reached approximately 2,000 tons.
