Italian food galore
FOOD lovers may sample authentic Italian food at selected local restaurants as the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World 2023 is taking place until this weekend.
To continue with their effort to showcase Italian cuisine and traditions, the Italian Embassy and the Italian Trade Agency in Malaysia in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (ITALCHAM), are hosting the week-long campaign in Malaysia.
Also occurring in over 100 countries from Nov 13 to 19, campaign is aimed at introducing consumers to truly authentic Italian ingredients, emphasising their strong regional roots.
In order to achieve this goal, the campaign by all the aforementioned Italian entities will bring the authentic taste of Italy to Malaysians. Participating local restaurants will create distinctive menus that highlight traditional regional recipes with authentic Italian ingredients.
On Nov 16, ITALCHAM will host a gala buffet dinner with a live cooking session by Italian chefs from participating restaurants.
The buffet will showcase a delectable assortment of Italian regional delicacies thoughtfully complemented by carefully curated Italian wines and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.
“The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World is a great opportunity for all of us to come together, explore, and indulge in the rich variety of Italian food. It’s not just a culinary event. It’s a moment of cultural exchange that brings Italy and Malaysia even closer,” said the Italian Ambassador to Malaysia Massimo Rustico during a press conference at his residence.
Rustico also highlighted that in addition to further pushing Italian cuisine’s eclectic tastes and regional differences, the campaign will highlight the wholesale benefits of the Mediterranean diet due to its balance of taste and health.
