Inflation in Kazakhstan December 2022
Inflation rose to 20.3% in December from 19.6% in November, marking the 12th straight month of growth. The December figure was the highest inflation rate since March 2000. Based on the details of the publication, the rise was broad-based, with food, transport, clothing and housing prices rising at a faster pace in December.
The trend was upward, with annual average inflation of 15.0% in December (November: 14.0%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 1.24% mom in December, down from November’s 1.42% rise. The December result was the weakest since July.
FocusEconomics experts predict that inflation will average 10.1% in 2023, which is 0.3 percentage points lower than last month’s forecast. In 2024, inflation is projected at an average of 6.8%.
