Ice dance couple Daisuke Takahashi and Kana Muramoto announce their retirement

Japanese ice dancing pair Daisuke Takahashi and Kana Muramoto announced the end of the competition on Monday.

Takahashi, 37, and Muramoto, 30, equaled the best result of a Japanese couple in ice dancing at the World Championships, placing 11th at the Saitama Super Arena near Tokyo in March. They will hold a press conference on Tuesday.

They haven’t made their future clear since their last appearance of the season at the World Team Trophy in April in Tokyo.
