Guadeloupe government fights ‘large-scale’ cyberattack on its networks

The French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe is struggling with what it calls “large-scale” cyberattack on their computer networks.

On Monday, officials said the government was working with an unidentified specialist firm to limit the impact of the attack in an effort to restore its systems as soon as possible.

The attack warning ad remained posted on main government website on Tuesday

It didn’t immediately become clear hackers demanded a ransom and which public services may have been affected.

A government spokeswoman did not immediately respond to an email asking for comment.
