German police detain Iranians accused of planning ‘Islamist-motivated attack’ after US tip
Two Iranians were detained by German police on Saturday evening after receiving a message from US security officials that they attack planningaccording to reports from the Münster police and the German press.
Munster police officials said the two men are suspected of plotting a “serious act of violence” using cyanide and ricin to “carry out an Islamist-motivated attack.”
Two men, aged 25 and 32, were taken into custody in the town of Castrop-Rauxel. in West Germany near Dortmund.
Ricin is a poison naturally found in castor beans, while cyanide is a deadly chemical that can exist in a variety of forms.

The extent of the suspects’ plans was not immediately known. On Sunday, investigators in hazmat suits searched the house, but no toxins were found, according to police.
FBI officials have warned of an impending attack, according to the German newspaper Bild.
An FBI spokesman declined to comment on Sunday.
