Douglas Co. Sheriff pardons turkey on misdemeanor charges

LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) – One turkey in Douglas County was pardoned due to a poultry situation.

In the spirit of thanksgiving Douglas County Sheriff This was stated by Jay Armbrister on Wednesday, November 11th. 23 that he pardoned one local turkey on a criminal mischief charge filed earlier this month.

Sheriff Armbrister reported that on November 11-October 10, Tom the turkey smashed a tenant’s window, causing damage. Thanks to the quick wit and good work of Master Dunkle’s assistant and Bonner’s assistant, he said that Tom got out of the bird situation safely.

Armbrister noted that Tom was released soon after.
