Digital sign language features: Microsoft Teams 3

Microsoft is launching a new dedicated sign language in its Microsoft Teams video conferencing platform feature. Users can turn on sign language and can select up to two other participants’ videos to be placed in a central location.

This allows designated signers to be visible to users throughout any meeting. Microsoft notes that Teams users can enable this feature for all of their meetings, or simply by selecting meeting by meeting. This can be helpful for signers without hearing impairments, and interpreters can be assigned before the meeting if they work for the organization. External translators are assigned on the “Accessibility” tab in the application settings.
