Demonstration in Sydney turns tense as police and protesters clash

Hundreds of protesters and police clashed in Sydney.

The demonstrators took to Macquarie Street and Hyde Park in the city’s central business district.

LGBTQIA+ activists have protested in response to Christian groups who say they are uniting to protect children from the “moral corruption of society.”

The officers tried to control both groups, with the protesters pouring into oncoming traffic from time to time.
