Commonwealth Games decision ‘cost the Victorian people dearly’

Herald Sun columnist Susie O’Brien says Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan claiming executive privilege over Commonwealth Games evidence is “absolutely appalling”.

“There’s this parliamentary inquiry and the Premier’s refusing to appear, and she’s also refusing to allow any of the documents that people want to see, people have a right to see – she’s claiming executive privilege, cabinet in confidence, commercial in confidence,” Ms O’Brien told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“It’s really just absolutely appalling because these are decisions … that cost the Victorian people dearly.

“We paid $300 million not to have a Commonwealth Games.

“And she was the minister for Commonwealth Games … and we’re so sick of this government, the secrecy of this Labor government continuing under Jacinta Allan that we had under Daniel Andrews.”
