Charlotte Ivy Studham dies at 13

A 13-year-old girl who died suddenly of epilepsy is remembered for her dazzling smile.

Charlotte Ivy Studham’s family said she “touched everyone she met with her big smile”.

Charlotte died November 3 of epilepsy with suspected sudden unexplained death (SUDEP), which is similar to sudden infant death syndrome.

She was just embarrassed about her 14th birthday.

“Charlotte had a wicked sense of humor and didn’t hesitate to come forward,” her mother wrote.

“She loved her friends and family and always thought about them, even when she was down. She loved music, dolls, dancing, drawing, animals and her dogs!”

The young dancer was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of five, but became more severe at the age of nine, when “things went awry and she had many seizures…several times a day that affected every aspect of her young life.” .

“We spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals, so many tests and investigations, which, unfortunately, did not lead to clear answers,” her mother added.

“But she took everything calmly and never let it stop her.

“We are drawing attention to this heartbreaking side of epilepsy because we have since found that many people knew nothing about it.”

Her family created GoFundMe to raise funds for charity “to support others in the community.”

“Those who knew her know that she was larger than life and always loved to help others where she could, so during this extremely difficult time, I would like to offer to those whose hearts were touched by Charlotte and who wish to help our family, but I don’t know how, I organized this fundraiser instead of giving flowers, please donate to Charlotte’s page,” her sister said.

Charlotte has also been tagged by family and friends online.

“I love you so much Char Char, you broke me,” her father wrote on Facebook the day after her death.

“You lit up the room the minute you walked into it with your sass, big personality and dancing (always showing me a new dance),” her godmother wrote.

“You were the coolest little girl I know and you overcame every obstacle in your path and you still had that beautiful smile no matter what.

“I wish I could squeeze you tighter and kiss you on the head much harder than last week when I said goodbye.

“It was an absolute honor to be your godmother and not a day goes by that I don’t think of you and my heart doesn’t ache for you being taken away so early.”
