Aslan lead singer Christy Dignam is undergoing end-of-life treatment

Christy Dignam, lead singer of Irish rock band Aslan, is receiving palliative care at home, his family has confirmed.

Dublin, 62, is being treated for amyloidosis, which causes an abnormal protein to build up in the body, causing organ failure.

He was hospitalized in July 2022 and received six months of treatment.

His family shared an update on Monday “in response to the large number of media inquiries received.”

The statement said: “Since December, Christy has been at home and lovingly cared for by her family with the support of the palliative care team.

“The Dignam family thanks everyone for remembering and praying for Christy and asking for privacy during this time.”
