Anticipation for Rocky Sasaki’s WBC debut escalates

Roki Sasaki Yuuki Yanagita’s first serve was a forkball. So it was with the second. The third was a fastball that recorded a speed of 162 km/h (100.6 mph) on radar on a sunny day at Sun Marine Stadium in Miyazaki.

Then another one followed at a speed of 161 km / h. At 2-2, Sasaki tried to tempt Yanagita to swing for the fifth pitch, one more ball to finish the pitch, but Yanagita didn’t peck the ball in the mud. Sasaki got the out he wanted, however, with his next offer, another fastball rolled in at 162.

Sasaki vs. Yanagita was probably the most anticipated matchup of Samurai Japan’s game against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks on Saturday afternoon and it was a good matchup.
