2nd review of local housing markets in February

Brief excerpt:

This is a second look at local markets in February. I track about 40 local housing markets in the US. Some of the 40 markets are owned by states and some by urban areas. I will update these tables throughout the month as more data become available.

Closed sales, January 2023In February, sales in these markets decreased by 23.1%. In January, these same markets were down 33.8% on a seasonally adjusted (NSA) basis.

This is a much smaller year-on-year decline in the NSA than in January for these early reporting markets.

Preliminary data suggests that sales, according to NAR, will recover in February. This will continue to be a significant year-on-year decline and the 18th consecutive month of year-on-year declines.

There are many more local markets ahead!
