“Over the years, we’ve had some unusual requests,” he told MailOnline.

“One asked for an iPhone case featuring the Hindu deity Ganesha cast in solid gold and encrusted with diamonds. It costs about a quarter of a million dollars.

He added that adult film companies also commissioned products for their talents, which were engraved with their autographs.

“We clearly have something for everyone!” Mr. Shamsossadati told MailOnline.

But some smartphone case designers prioritize function over fashion, and one Mous allowed the iPhone 14 to survive launch during a bungee jump.

Mous CEO and co-founder James Griffith took part in the terrifying jump during which he dropped Apple’s flagship smartphone from a height of 20 meters above the ground.

Surprisingly, both the smartphone and the smartphone case survived the test unscathed.

“I don’t know what’s scarier – jumping from such a height or throwing a brand new iPhone 14!” he joked.

However, both Mous and Golden Concept may not yet have mastered the next big trend in smartphone cases, faux leather.

Scientists from the University of Bristol have developed a prototype skin that they say can wrap devices such as smartphones to provide a “more natural interface”.

Designed to look and mimic human skin, it responds to various forms of human contact such as tickling, petting and pinching.

The researchers say their work opens the door to a possible future with “anthropomorphic devices” where things have human characteristics.

The artificial skin was created using two layers of silicone—the “dermis” and “hypoderm” layers—with a layer of electrodes in the middle, made up of ultra-thin wires that act as sensors.

Two different types of silicone were dipped in pigment and molded to give the creation a leather-like texture.

The researchers said their artificial skin allows the devices to “feel the user’s grasp” and has the ability to “detect interactions such as tickling, petting, even twisting and pinching.”

3D-printed antibacterial smartphone cases could help stop the spread of superbugs like MRSA.

A new antibacterial material that can be used to make smartphone cases could help stop the spread of deadly superbugs.

British scientists have created 3D-printed parts that kill bacteria that have become resistant to antibiotics, such as the dreaded MRSA.

This material can be used in general hospital parts, doorknobs, children’s toys, dentures and everyday consumer products.

It promises to stop outbreaks of serious diseases in wards and nursing homes, potentially saving the lives of vulnerable patients.
